So lucky we randomly decided to stop here to have some food on our way up north! The food is AMAZING!! I grew up in Mexico and I often miss the authentic sazon of home cooked meals lacking in many of the so called “Mexican restaurants” I’ve tried... so I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem! I had the tacos de tripa and they are as authentic as they can get! So were the port tamales! So yummy! And they did not skimp out on the meat like many places do!... the rice and beans brought back childhood memories! They were delicious... definitely worth stopping here if you find yourself in the area. I had the pleasure of talking with the owner, Ms Yesenia... who made our visit even more pleasurable Ms Yesenia and ms Letty... thank you for the amazing food and nice time.

Great food!!! Extremely nice server too. They were extremely understaffed but our server took good care of us. No alcohol served but the food was so good it makes up for the lack of drinks. I had the taco tour which was a mixture of 13 different tacos. I will be going back to this place very soon.

Delicious and authentic food. Very friendly and helpful staff. They also have a large selection of Mexican candies. In the summer, they have amazing popsicles. A true hidden jewel.

A little bit out of the way but what a great find! The food is delicious, the service is prompt, friendly and attentive. The menu is refreshingly simple and everything is very tasty. The atmosphere is very authentic and reminds me of several taquerias we visited in Mexico. If you’re in Leeds and have a taste for tacos, La Juanita is a great choice. We’ll definitely come here again,

A local restaurant serving phenomenal food at a great price. So happy we found this place! Feels really cozy and cheery. Honestly one of the best Mexican meals I’ve ever had. Food came quickly. The staff was so sweet and helpful. We got tacos and sopes (first time ever trying the latter. The base patty/shell was basically soft like the outside of a tamale, but thicker). As you can see the sopes are somewhat dense so 2 would be perfect for a decent-sized meal. They had toppings like pickled onions and slaw which you could fill up on the side. We tried chorizo, chicken, and Al pastor. All of it was excellent! The beans tasted fresh & hand mashed, and the rice had a great flavor too. I’m glad we stumbled upon this restaurant and would love to come back. Definitely give it a try if you get the chance :)

If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, look no further! I had the taco trio- steak, chicken and carnitas, my husband got the tamales, soup and street corn, I had the hibiscus water, my husband had the mango...then for dessert we had the ice cream popsicles; he had pistachio and I had strawberries n cream and I tried a little bit of everything on the salsa bar and it was all delicious. All I can say is WOW. It is better than we imagined. I hardly ever leave reviews, but Juanita definitely deserved a shoutout! Everyone was so kind and helpful. When we pass back through Leeds, Alabama next time, we will definitely be back.

Flavors of Mexican culture are available locally without a Passport! We're so thankful to discover La Juanita Taqueria; have quickly made this stop a favorite. Will take the challenge to try more of the menu, but the faves are too alluring. Authentic runs throughout; the food, atmosphere, condiments bar, pan pantry, etc. make a visit more like a tourist's delight. Looking forward to next meal there. Photos are of Burrito Campechano, Carnitas, Tejas Fajitas, Carne Asada, and Chicken Fajitas.
